Airbnb is where I go through the looking glass. Every time the writing slows or the plot bogs down, I get the urge to escape my drudgery. Surely I’d understand my characters better if I changed my viewpoint. Maybe I should change it to, say, the view from the front porch of a bungalow in Venice Beach?

Since I can’t hop a jet every time the books hit a speed bump, I spend a lot of time on Airbnb. Is 2-3 hours a week a lot? Would you judge me if it was more? Anyway, I don’t care if you judge. It’s good stress relief. Not to mention, perfectly free. And you wouldn’t believe some of the places you can rent for a night. You have several choices if you’ve ever dreamed of staying in a former missile silo. Covered wagons, too.
